The Word of God

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, (II Timothy 3:16) This verse to me is very clear in what it says yet, I can not believe the number of people today that state they are Christians and don't believe the entire Bible and bring up the question " Well the Bible was written by men?" " Some of it may have not been translated correctly?" etc... I have to say when I hear people whom profess to be Christians saying things such as this I have to stop and ask myself. What do they do with II Tim 3:16? If you happen to be one of people that are in the group I am talking about then I challenge you to either believe the Bible in its totality or don't believe it. I really see know other way to look at it. I also know some of you may think " What is he doing, asking them not to believe!" I want you to know this if God wants them to believe and it takes words on this blog to do it. Glory be to God. I am just a tool that has yielded my life to God to be used to expand the kingdom.

The reason I am bringing this up today is while Paul, and I were out witnessing yesterday in Silver Spring we ran into a young man named Micheal and he stated just this. He said " I am a Christian." Then as we began to talk to him and question him as to his beliefs he began to make comments that were not consistent with the Bible. He stated that Jesus Christ was the way for him but, Jesus may not be the way for others. (I was perplexed) Now, I do want to say that Micheal was young, I believe just a freshman in College, so he has probably heard some psycho-babble from his professors that goes something like this. "You have the freedom to believe what you want to believe yet, just by looking at the world around us and the many different belief systems no one can claim exclusivity when it comes to right and wrong. Each persons beliefs have to be valued and respected. We need to be tolerant of all." To this I would exclaim loudly "Ridiculous!" True believers know that only one truth exist when it comes to right and wrong and Jesus told us this truth in John 14:6 Jesus said to him,"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." Jesus could have not been clearer than this. So Micheal and anyone else who has these ideas, repent and believe by trusting in the only one who can give you newness of life, the Son of God, Jesus Christ. Until you read again, God bless.

Transformation of a blog...

As some of you may have noticed my blog has become less of a Theology site and more of a informative ministry posting site. I have done this for several reasons. First of all I know what I know and not much else. Now many of you may be confused by this sentence so let me explain. The one thing that I know is the gospel. I may have ideas or opinions about other things but, I can not really say I know them. In truth, the gospel is what I preach and what I strive to know above all else. I want to be able to understand, explain, proclaim, preach, and teach the gospel more than any other doctrine in the Bible. For after all the gospel is where we find life and breath and is where we need to live out our spiritual lives. I am going through a book on DVD "God is the Gospel" with my associates on Mondays in our branch office and the session we watched today was magnificent. By the way John Piper is the author of the book and I would recommend it to everyone. Why would we want to go through this book on DVD? Because the gospel is what we do and why we exist as missionaries. My primary call is to go and preach the gospel. Preaching the gospel brings me such joy and satisfaction and God has confirmed to me over and over that He has made me for this purpose. So in short that is why I have transformed this blog into a ministry posting site so I can preach the gospel through this site and God can transform lives for His glory!

Looking towards His grace....

As I sit in front of my computer and look out the window and see the sun shining down from above I can only think of a few things. One of these is how great God is and how amazing it is that He has called me to live in this area of the county just down the street from our nations capital. Another, even greater than this though is that He has given me the opportunity or should I say the privilege to preach the greatest news ever told, the gospel, the good news, the story of His glory, to individuals on the streets. Many of the people I get to speak to and preach to have never and may never enter the doors of a church building. Although, they have heard the life changing message that Jesus Christ left His place in glory, to humble Himself to come to earth to pay a fine that He did not deserve to pay. By going to the cross and shedding His blood so that those who repent of their sins and believe in His death, burial and resurrection can receive the gift of eternal life. I almost can't believe the reality of how God has used my life to speak to thousands of people with the message of the gospel. God has provided for my family in amazing ways in the past and He will continue to provide for us in the future. I would like to invite you to be a part of what God is doing through my life here in Silver Spring, MD. You can invest in His Kingdom by following this link www.oacusa.org/staff-dempsie.php and making an investment that will have eternal dividends in the lives of others. Have a great weekend and God bless each of you.

Find life in Christ

"Blessed is the man who listens to me, Watching daily at my gates, Waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoever finds me finds life, And obtains favor from the Lord; But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul; All those who hate me love death." Prov 8:34-36 ( I have been called to help men find life, repent and believe the gospel and you shall find life.)

I read these verses today and they spoke to me in a mighty way. As I looked at the words "whoever finds me finds life" I realized that God has allowed me to have the privilege of not only show the lost how to find life, because it is not about finding life it is about finding Christ the giver of life. I was reading a book by John Piper "God is the Gospel" and he asked a question in the beginning of the book. It went something like this.... If you could go to heaven and gain all that it has to offer, no pain, no sickness, no death, no tears, overwhelming joy, etc.. would you still want to go if God were not there? This made me stop and ponder these things for quite some time. That is why I feel I am not hear to help people get life although, that is a great benefit. I am here to point people to Christ the giver of life.

Reaching the nations right here in Maryland

Yesterday I went to the mall with Paul and we were handing out tracts to people that we met. I happened to stop at a kiosk in the mall and a girl named NiNi from China was working. I handed her a tract and told her that it was the greatest news she would ever read. Then we I asked her how long she had been in the States and she told me only 1 year. I told her that her English was very good an told her make sure she read the tract and told her to have a good day. I say I was able to reach the nations because I do not know were the Good News on salvation my go because I gave a tract to NiNi and God may use this to have her share with her family that is still living in China. Praise God for His grace.
