Silver Spring outreaches

The outreaches we have been able to do in downtown Silver Spring have been incredible and this Friday night was no different. Paul and I went down to Silver Spring and we had many others come out to join us in sharing the gospel message of Jesus Christ. We preached 4 messages and there were huge crowds of people listening each time the gospel was preached. I spoke individaully with several people and two young men that just happened to be passing by on their way to a Bible study stopped and were very interested in what we were doing that they decided to stay and support us and help with counseling those who heard the preaching. We had many other individuals come out to support us by doing one to one witnessing after the messages and I praise the Lord for the way he is using us so mightly to proclaim the gospel in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland. I encourage any of you that are local to come out and join us in Silver Spring at Fenton St. and Ellsworth. We are there almost every Friday night and you can follow us on facebook to see where we will be preaching next. God bless each of you for your support and prayers.

State College in the Park

Once again I had the opportunity to go back to State College and preach on the campus of Penn State and then the following day I was able to go to a local park with Abiding Truth Christian Fellowship, a chuch that supports us, and it is always a joy to work with them. Last fall they went out to Penn State with me and we had a great outreach and this time was no different. Pastor Larry was able to go to the campus with us this time and he had many great conversations. It was nice to be able to spend the afternoon with him sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Then as I said on Saturday we went to a park near Luke's house and had a children's program and the church provided hot dogs and hamburgers at a pavillion as part of the outreach. It was a wonderful time and many of the congregation helped to make the day a success. Gregg Hunter also went along with me and it was a pleasure to preach along side of him and he helped to make the trip enjoyable by the fellowship we shared in during the drive to State College and home. I plan to go back and work with Abiding Truth Christian Fellowship again in the fall of this year. I also would like to encourage any of you who are reading this blog that are in the State College area and are looking for a church to check out Abiding Truth Christian Fellowship because they are a great group of believers that have a heart for the lost and also teach the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter each week. They are located at 178 Rolling Ridge Drive State College, PA or you can find them on the web at calvaryfellowshipstatecollege.com. I pray God continues to bless this church and may it continue to bless State College.

Penn State University

On Friday November 6th I again had the opportunity to preach on the campus of Penn State. Paul and Eric went with me and we meet Luke and Rodger and went onto campus about 12:00. It was a great day to be on campus. The weather was nice and many students stopped to listen to the messages as they were being preached. I spoke with several students and one of the students that I spoke with for about 20 minutes was a young man named Anthony. Anthony stated he had no religious beliefs and did not believe in creation. He did not think there was enough proof to make him believe that God could have created all that we see. I spoke to Anthony for quite some time and was able to share with him some of the evidence for the existence of God and the validity of the scriptures. Anthony told me that he had never heard anyone present the belief in God in such a way. I told him that it just makes sense after looking at the evidence and seeing how it is supported through documents that the God of the Bible has to be the one true God. He agreed but, was not yet willing to put his faith in Christ. I know that through this conversation God was working on Anthony's heart and that God will continue to reveal truth to Anthony through other individuals that are place in Anthony's path.

I have recently started using apologetics in this way because of a CD that I have been listening to about proof for the resurrection by Dr. Craig Hazen. I would have not thought this type of argument would have been very beneficial in the past but, now that I am encountering many college students that do not even acknowledge that God exists I have found this type of discussion is very useful in such a conversation.

Facebook | Open Air Campaigners

Facebook | Open Air Campaigners: "OAC MD was on the Montgomery College campus yesterday preaching the gospel. Paul and I ,Zane, both preached messges and answered many questions that were raised by the audience. It was a great day of ministry and many conversations with atheist, an...gnotics, and doubters took place. Paul took this picture of me as many students gathered around to join in and listen to the questions and responses. There was one particular conversation that occurred with a young man ,named Coy, that had listened to us in the past and was very hardened to the gospel yet, this day he seemed to soften and let down some of the walls that were preventing any meaningful conversation. Praise God. Please pray for Coy ,that God will reveal Himself to Coy,and that he might repent and place his faith in Jesus.

Ocean City Bike week

For the last two days I have been down at Ocean City, Maryland preaching on the boardwalk with Tom Fox and Greg Hunter. Tom is a partner of mine in ministry with Open Air Campaigners and Greg is an applicant for OAC. It has been a blessing having Greg come down and share in the ministry of preaching the gospel with us these last few days. Initially Greg was not going to be able to come along with us because he was leaving for Guatemala prior to this trip, but God worked things out by delaying his trip for a few days and this enabled Greg to come down and help us on the boardwalk. Having an additional preacher with us while minister on the boardwalk is very helpful. God has been faithful in sending out the people to hear the messages that have been preached. We were able to preach to over 250 people in just two days, Praise the Lord. Every time I think about the amount of people that are being reached with the message of salvation through the preaching of God's word through this ministry I am humbled and feel such joy to be a part of this awesome work the God is doing. I had said before that it is not about the numbers of people that we preach to that makes the ministry rewarding yet, the more people that hear the message means that more seeds are being planted and God will full fill His purpose through these seeds.
Tonight we will be going out again to preach on the boardwalk and I know that God is going to great things again for the His Kingdom. I ask that all of you who are reading this post please pray that we are able to go in the strength of the Lord and that many lives will be changed by the preaching of the gospel tonight. I pray that all of you have a wonderful day and I challenge you to look for opportunities to share Christ with someone today as you go on your way. To God be the Glory!
